We stayed in Lisdoonvarna for a week in July and we really enjoyed it. It is very well located when you wish to do some sightseeing in the Burren area. We loved the Cliff of Moher, Ballyvaughan and the road to Blackhead. We also enjoyed the play area for the kids. The house is located in a quiet place, but not too quiet. The supervisor was very nice and helpful, the house was clean and spacious.
The cleanliness of the estate and the peacefulness at night
Big house, bright and clean!
We were very pleased with the house- clean, spacious and easy walk to the village, lisdoonvarna well located for visiting different attractions-cliffs of moher, doolin boat trips, aliwee caves. Would particularly recommend moherhill open farm in liscannor for kids- went there with a 3 and 10 year old, loads to do- feed the animals, playground, bouncy castle and picnic area. Also lahinch have a good pool for the rainy days - adult pool and separate very nice kids pool also an aquarium and playzone in the centre but didn't go to either so can't comment on those. There's a playground in lisdoon village, heard its good but didn't make it there.
Stayed for a week over the Easter Holidays with our 3 children in this wonderful setting of Co.Clare. We would highly recommend these cottages to anyone who would be staying in Lisdoonvarna.Very easy to find as it is in the town and not on any obscure country road. House was absolutely spotless(clean) very spacious and the 3 toilets came in very handy with our kids. We had a great time kids had a super time playing with the other children staying there. We were able to see a lot of County Clare (Doolin Cave,Fanore,Kilkee & Lahinch Beach all worth a visit,Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, definitely go there only an hours drive away and well worth it! Alwee Caves only half hour away and of course who could forget the Cliffs of Moher(15 mins drive away) followed by a trip to Moherhill Open Farm for the kids excellent value. We will be staying in these cottages again.
The house was immaculate. Debbie McNamara looked after us extremely well. I would say that the town is very quiet at this time of year and there is no ATM or Bank. Lisdoonvarna is a good place to base yourself and travel to the Burren and key Clare towns but in itself is a bit of a let down. Looks like the Celtic Tiger completly passed it by. The salmon from the Burren Smokehouse in Lisdoonvarna is fab.
This was very good in every regard except for one unacceptable item. There is no flow of hot water, barely enough to fill the sink and absolutely insufficient to run a shower. Frankly, it doesn't matter how good the rest of the house is or the poeple who meet and greet you, if you cannot have a shower then the entire episode is tainted with frustration and disappointment. I was and remain angry that the owners/management cannot see their way to providing such a basic and essential function such as this.
It was really good very central for touring could have done with more cooking utensils ie no non stick spatula for frying pan and a personal welcome greeting would have been nice we saw no one the whole time we were there.
Very good value, well located self catering accommodation, house met our needs completely would recommend to friends
A wonderful brand new house, in a lovely village at the door of the Burren, Cliffs of Moher, Doolin, Aran Islands.... We recommend +++++++
Lovely Irish village of Lisdoonvarna with friendly people. The house is a few minutes walk from local shops, bars and restaurants and within easy access to most attractions within Co Clare. The house is situation within a small holiday village and is safe for children to play outside. It was well equipped, clean and the open planned living/kitchen area was spacious, with good cloakroom and utility areas. Would definitely recommend to friends and would book again.
It was a nice spacious clean modern house.
